Stroik

“People think they have all the answers but they really don’t.”
23-year-old Drew Stroik describes a childhood full of cross-country moves, from his birth in Chicago to Maimi, to Las Angeles, Vegas, and North Carolina. His varied experiences have created a fun sound that is at times comparable to everyone from Hot Chip and Passion Pit to Her Space Holiday, and the Postal Service. Stroik’s music is simple, unobtrusive and easy to digest. This sound is by no means new, but as a self-proclaimed “generic pop” artist, that does not seem to be a concern to Stroik. He seeks to create soundcapes and visceral emotion. This modest electro pop appears to have resulted in what Stroik was going for, an expression of himself that could comfortably adapt to many settings. Stroik’s new album In The Fresh will be out sometime in 2012.
