Hello There fellow lovers of music. My name is Davina. I am the bandleader, singer, pianist, ukulele player, songwriter, of Davina and The Vagabonds. I am going to take you with us on our adventures of touring, or just plan “trying to make a living at music” agenda.
We are heading out to Omaha NE, (6am ughh!), tomorrow to play at The 21st Saloon. (once was The Lift Lounge) This is an ongoing residency Blues/Roots night for the venue. Omaha has a great music scene full of old heads, new heads, indie, blues, roots, americana, rock…you name it. I am excited to get back there. This will be our third time at this venue. Great stage..intimate.
Then we are floating for a day, thanks to my lovely agency, but we plan on making a stop at Muddy Water’s in Bettendorf, IA – say that city name five times… We will be seeing Little Bobby and The Storm..maybe sit in..who knows.
Then Saturday we will be playing a GREAT festival Gumbo Ya Ya with our friends from St.Louis, Funky Butt Brass Band (Shameless plug–>I build there website). They are a freakishly talented bunch of musicians that make your ass move and bring great arrangements as a brass band you would NEVER think is possible (ie The Devil Went Down to Georgia) and GUMBOHEAD. Needless to say this will be an amazing night of New Orleans flared goodness.
