What is the exact name of your band?
Miss Derringer

Where did you come up with it? What’s the meaning behind it?
The Lady Deringer was a historical pistol typically owned by women in the wild west.  Miss Derringer is a fictional character the band is loosely based on who is always heartbroken and on the wrong side of the law.

Who are your current members and what instruments do they play?
Liz McGrath – Vocals
Morgan Slade – Guitar
Sylvain de Muizon – Bass
Cody James – Drums
Ben Shields – Lead Guitar

What genre would you put yourselves into?
Dark Rock-a-billy

Are your songs political, personal, fictional or something else?
Most songs are fictional stories with universal tragic values

Who are your influences?
the Shangri-Las, Johnny Cash, the Ronettes, Elvis, Merle Haggard, the Misfits, Social Distortion

What are your long-term goals?
Make great albums and play great live shows

Do you have any existing promotional materials we could share with others for you?
We have a new album that came out this summer called Winter Hill…

What was your most memorable live show and why?
We opened for Blondie at Nokia Theater in Times Square.  We are huge fans and they are a big influence on us.  They don’t really go out to party after the show, but they all went to a bar after (including Debby) and we had the night of our life.  Clem Burke Blondie’s drummer played a song on our most recent album Winter Hill.

What has been your biggest challenge as a band?
Keeping a band together long enough to become good and be successful.

Do you have another outlet other than myspace that your fans can access your music?
There’s some cool videos of us at Shockhound.com.

What do you hope your fans get from your music?
We just want to entertain people and hopefully feel that they are not the only ones who have tough experiences.
Thanks so much for the opportunity!
