Death Row Martyr 2009

by: David Gerhard

Death Row Martyrs is an unsigned Minnesota metal band. Death Row Martyr is the result of band member conflict extreme. The instrumentalist’s of Death Row Martyrs gained exposure by playing for Likwid Blu, Frontline Massacure, Twisted Sin, Loaded Chamber, SI6KS and Hiatus. Neil Roske (vocalist) began his musical endevor by playing bass for Dislocated. Wanting a more front stage aproach to music, Neil sharpened his vocals while singing for God Out of machine. After 6 years he found a more short lived home on stage with Far Forbidden. Neil Roske was honored with the chance to take over the microphone for Chris Beussman. Death Row Martyrs is a melting pot of piracy, military and just a touch of Third Riech. This deadly combonation contrubutes to one of the most aggresive cds and stage proformances The Rock Nightclubs seen in a while. Unfortunatly with that being said, I have to say that this show was for a lack of better words exhausting. Exhausting because 4 hours before playing a wicked set at The Rock Nightclub, The Death Row Martyrs played their hearts out for the crowd at The Crypticon. The Death Row Martyrs have sound that would allow them to play along side bands like Chimaira, korn or even Rage Against the Machine. That is the exact reason why this band can take control of a crowd like no other. They came in like covert opps.. hard, heavy, fast but left with the hum of distuction amongst the crowd. I will have to see The Death Row Martyrs again to have a fair point of veiw. I can tell you this though, sortly after the show, I was in line for one of their cds and you should be too next time.
